The Color Run 2016

When The Color Run first came to Singapore in 2014, it was something that I've wanted to try out but had no friends to go with. But this year, I finally got to try it out with my fiancee.
The run spanned on a weekend, 20th and 21st August. We opted for the 20th as it was a Saturday and we'll have time to rest on Sunday.
My bib and shirt that came with the pack
We booked online and collect our race packs at City Square Mall. As usual, there were promotions, vouchers and brochures from sponsors. Other than our standard issue bib numbers, headbands and running tees, the race pack weren't that exciting to me as compared to the other runs.

Run starts at 4. But we were fashionably late as usual. Haha. We made our way to Vivo City via the HarbourFront MRT station. Saw come Color Runners walking in the opposite direction. We were left wondering weather those were volunteers or other runners from the earlier waves.

As we made our way towards the Vivo City entrance, we are stopped by two seemingly random passersby, only to find that they're actually Sentosa staff due to their name tags they're wearing. They told us that the Sentosa Express is full and suggested that we took the shuttle bus at HabourFront Interchange. We were rather grateful for the staff, but seemingly a bit ticked off at the other runners who were walking opposite us earlier. The least they could have done is to warn us. Oh well, typical Singaporeans.
Inside the shuttle bus
Regardless we still made our way to the interchange. When we got there, the queue was already forming. After waiting for almost 15 minutes the shuttle bus finally arrived. After another lengthy journey into Sentosa thanks to the unforgiving traffic travelling into the island, we finally arrived Beach Station.

I vote for world peace.
Firstly, despite being almost 5pm, the weather was really really hot. With the sun shining down on us, fiancee bought a pair of pink Color Run sunglasses. After we took some shots infront of the stage, we made our way to the start line. That was when we lost our motivation.

Making our way to the start line
Among the crowd.
At the start line itself, they released the runners wave by wave. Since there were a lot of runners, with the hot weather, we felt quite uncomfortable and was already sweating through our shirts. By the time we got close to the start line, we were already tired. And as seen by the above video, we only ran for that duration.
When the Color Run became the Color "Walk"...
With the crowd behind us.

After some walking and running, followed by being photobombed by some random guy in a rainbow wig, we arrived at the first color point, turquoise, in which initially thought was green. This can be seen in the above video. By the time we had ran thru the turquoise color station, we had decided to walk entering the trail following the former Sentosa monorail.
Orange color!!!
We've gotten our orange!!

We went through the 2nd color station, my favorite color, orange!! After some walking, we were headed to the water point. There's only one water point in The Color Run, serving cups of plain water and 100Plus isotonic drinks.

The above video describing some of our favorite colors and fiancee's ramblings on the weather. The final pare of me burping loudly at a group of runners cheering past us.

Finally she's smiling...
Up next, we walked past the pink and actual green (as we earlier thought that turquoise was green) color stations. And then, finally comes fiancee's happiest moment.....
A video of us crossing the finish, spraying each other with color dust and receiving the finisher medals. After running/walking 5 kilometers through the very hot weather, we were glad that was over.
Our finisher medals!!
End of  The Color Run!
